A regular walk of mine takes me from Bawnmore up the bog road to Muinefluich, on to Lackaduv past Scrahanard and Back home. Groves of evergreens stand mysteriously on rocky outcrops. They recall 'Winter landscape' (1811) by Casper David Friedrich. In this painting Friedrichs majestic evergreens represent the time of year when winter is ending and when Darkness turns to light. Hope returns. This idea has informed my recent collection of work, amongst other things.
